What a PCB estimate contains

Sample — not a live quote

Illuminious is a U.S. NPI engineering company. This page illustrates the layout of an estimate, line by line, so you can see what an estimate contains before making an account. Engineered in San Francisco. Prototype builds, DFM and mass production in our own factory in Shenzhen. Upload your files, get a free engineering review, and pay only the official quote that review publishes.

It follows one standard pcb and pcba job and shows its lines without amounts. It is a sample: your own configuration produces your own price, from live supplier quotes where they are available, otherwise a specialist quotation within 24 hours on business days.

Configure it online, or send the job to an engineer. Online, you get a live supplier price, a published tier, or an official quote prepared by a specialist within 24 hours on business days, depending on the service. Engineering review is free either way and comes before you pay.

The lines of an estimate

The lines of an estimate for a Standard PCB and PCBA job, and what each one covers
LineWhat this line covers
FabricationThe bare boards, built to your stack-up, finish and quantity.
AssemblyPlacing and soldering the parts on every board, with the tests you selected.
ComponentsThe parts on your bill of materials, bought for the quantity you order.
ShippingConfirmed at review, once the packed dimensions, weight and destination are known.

Your estimate shows an amount on each of these lines once suppliers price your build. This page illustrates the layout and carries no amounts. A sample, not an offer.

What travels with every estimate

  • Price is an indicative estimate based on the submitted specifications and active pricing rule. It is not the amount you will be asked to pay.
  • An Illuminious specialist reviews every submission free of charge and issues an official price for you to accept before anything is charged.
  • Shipping is an estimate and may change after dimensions, weight, packing, and destination are reviewed.
  • Shipping is confirmed in the official quote.
  • Lead times for every tier, Economy included, are target ranges counted from production release, not committed dates. The official quote states the lead time.

What is this sample, and what is it not?

Is this sample an offer?

No. It shows what each line of a PCB quote covers, so you can see what a quote contains before making an account. It carries no amounts, it is not a price list, and nothing on this page can be accepted or paid.

Why does this sample show no amounts?

Because a PCB price comes from live supplier quotes for your exact build: fabrication, assembly and components. Where suppliers cannot price a build, a specialist prepares the official quote within 24 hours on business days. A recorded figure would describe neither, so this page describes the lines instead.

Will my quote look like this?

Yes: a fabrication line, an assembly line, a components line, shipping confirmed at review, an indicative total, and the disclosures that travel with every quote. The amounts come from your own configuration, and the binding number is always the official quote published after a free engineering review.

When am I actually asked to pay?

The free engineering review comes first. Depending on the service you see a live supplier price, a published fixed price, or a price from a specialist within 24 hours on business days, and nothing is charged when you submit. After the review we publish an official quote with an itemized total, lead time and a validity window, and that is the amount you are asked to pay. Accepting the official quote opens payment rather than charging you. If a later correction changes scope or price, you see an itemized revision and can approve, question or decline it. We never silently charge an increase.

How do you price your own job the same way?

An engineer reviews every order. Review is free and comes before payment, and the official quote it publishes is the amount you are asked to pay.

  1. An engineer runs a free engineering review of your files, and nothing is charged when you submit.
  2. You see the findings first.
  3. We publish the official quote with an itemized total, lead time and validity window.
  4. You accept the official quote, and only then does payment open.
