Automated SMT line assembling a green printed circuit board

Order PCB fabrication and assembly as one accountable job.

Illuminious is a U.S. NPI engineering company. Standard PCB & PCBA covers rigid board fabrication and optional SMT, through-hole or mixed assembly, configured online from your Gerber archive. Engineered in San Francisco. Prototype builds, DFM and mass production in our own factory in Shenzhen. Upload your files, get a free engineering review, and pay only the official quote that review publishes.

Order the boards for your demo build here. You see a live supplier price, and a free engineering review checks the Gerbers, BOM and placement data before you pay anything.

Configure it online, or send the job to an engineer. Online, you get a live supplier price, a published tier, or an official quote prepared by a specialist within 24 hours on business days, depending on the service. Engineering review is free either way and comes before you pay.

An engineer reviews every order. Account required before the persistent configurator opens. Engineering review is free and comes before payment, and payment does not authorize production.

Is standard PCB and PCBA the right route for your board?

  • Rigid PCB prototypes
  • Turnkey or consigned PCBA
  • Mixed SMT and through-hole builds
  • Repeat production with controlled revisions
Typical orders
Prototype through production quantities; final capacity and lead time are confirmed in review.
Source files
Gerber archive; BOM and centroid/placement data when assembly is selected.

A shared order lifecycle with service-specific depth.

The configurator collects the factors that drive a responsible preliminary amount. Engineering then reviews the exact source revision, assumptions, and approvals that control release.

Board construction

Configure FR-4 or aluminum-core construction, layer count, dimensions, thickness, copper, solder mask, and surface finish.

Assembly scope

Add SMT, through-hole, or mixed assembly with sourcing assumptions, placement count, programming, and test requirements.

Special features

Call out controlled impedance, fine features, gold fingers, castellated holes, and other details that need DFM confirmation.

Documented output

Approved specifications, file revisions, inspection expectations, and customer-visible production status remain linked to the order.

What can you configure for PCB fabrication and assembly?

These are the ranges the Standard PCB/PCBA configurator accepts. Anything outside them is still orderable — it goes to an engineer through the outlined path instead of through the form.

Standard PCB & PCBA configurator bounds
ParameterAccepted range
Board width5–600 mm
Board height5–600 mm
Board quantity1–100,000 boards
Designs per panel/order1–50 designs
Minimum via diameter0.15–6.00 mm
Placements per board0–5,000 placements
Through-hole parts per board0–5,000 parts
Unique part numbers0–1,000 parts

Detail pages for each Standard PCB/PCBA route.

Each one covers the capability bounds, the pricing factors, and what engineering checks for that specific process or ordering context — and opens the configurator with it already selected.

How is a PCB and PCBA price built?

Lead time, and what each tier trades

Economy
A longer target lead time than Standard, for work that is not on a deadline. Takes a discount line off the price, never below the service minimum, shown before you commit.
Standard
The lead-time range quoted for your configuration, counted from approved files. No schedule charge. It is the price you were quoted.
Express
Shortens the standard range where the process and the queue allow it. Adds an expedite line, priced on your own configuration and shown before you commit.
  • Board area, layer band, quantity, and material
  • Copper, finish, feature complexity, and electrical test
  • Assembly setup, placement count, technology mix, and parts-supply model
  • Programming, functional test, inspection, packaging, and requested lead time
Priced live. Engineering review is free and happens before payment, so nothing is charged to reach this figure. Priced live from supplier quotes for fabrication, SMT, through-hole and mixed assembly on one or both sides, and components, including castellated holes and edge plating. UL marking, gold fingers, assembly with BGA, QFN or parts with a pin pitch under 0.5 mm, other options suppliers do not quote online, and anything a supplier does not price at the moment, such as parts without a priced bill of materials, are quoted by a specialist within 24 hours on business days. Engineering review confirms the vendor quote before payment.

What engineering reviews

Customer approvals may include

  • Any proposed component substitution
  • Any changed material, finish, panel, or production file
  • Any itemized price or lead-time revision
  • Fabrication package completeness and board dimensions
  • Layer, material, copper, finish, drill, and feature compatibility
  • Panelization and DFM risks
  • BOM, placement data, component availability, polarity, and test scope

Free review first. Keep every later decision explicit.

  1. Create your account

Verify your email before the persistent quote workspace opens. Every file, estimate, message, and payment stays attached to that account.

  2. Configure and upload

Provide service-specific inputs and place technical files in private project storage. Saved drafts remain available across sessions.

  3. Free engineering review

Submit the configured cart at no charge. A reviewer checks the exact file and specification revision, then prices it or opens a documented question or correction request.

  4. Official quote

Review publishes an itemized quote with lead time and a validity window. That is the binding figure; anything shown earlier was a preliminary estimate.

  5. Accept and pay

Accepting opens payment rather than charging you. Lead time is counted from settled payment, and any later itemized revision needs your approval first.

  6. Produce and deliver

After all commercial, technical, and customer gates are complete, the project moves through the service-specific production or design milestones.

What this service is intended to produce.

Fabricated boards or assembled boards with an approved manufacturing specification, linked test expectations, and protected order history.

Protected and traceable by default

Private files, immutable revisions, authenticated approvals, itemized commercial changes, and customer-visible history are part of the order system rather than a loose email trail.

Boundaries

  • Incomplete assembly data may require a revised price
  • Unverified component substitutions require approval
  • Nonstandard material combinations are review-dependent

Answers before you start the workspace.

What do I need to get a PCB or PCBA price?

A Gerber fabrication archive is required. Add a BOM and centroid or pick-and-place file for assembly. Drawings, stack-up notes, programming files, and test instructions can be uploaded to the same protected project.

Is the amount at checkout final?

The free engineering review comes first. Depending on the service you see a live supplier price, a published fixed price, or a price from a specialist within 24 hours on business days, and nothing is charged when you submit. After the review we publish an official quote with an itemized total, lead time and a validity window, and that is the amount you are asked to pay. Accepting the official quote opens payment rather than charging you. If a later correction changes scope or price, you see an itemized revision and can approve, question or decline it. We never silently charge an increase.

Can Illuminious source components?

Yes. Select Illuminious sourcing, consigned parts, or a mixed model. Availability, lifecycle risk and any proposed alternate are confirmed in the free engineering review.

How are my files protected?

Your technical files are stored in private project storage and accessed through short-lived authenticated links. Files, prices, replacements and approvals stay tied to your account and keep their revision history.
