Industrial additive manufacturing producing a precision polymer part

Order 3D printed parts with the geometry assumptions made visible.

Illuminious is a U.S. NPI engineering company. 3D Printing covers SLA, SLS, MJF, FDM and metal additive manufacturing with finishing and inspection, configured online from your model. Engineered in San Francisco. Prototype builds, DFM and mass production in our own factory in Shenzhen. Upload your files, get a free engineering review, and pay only the official quote that review publishes.

Upload the model and declare process, material, finish, quantity and critical features. A specialist checks the geometry and sends your price within 24 hours on business days.

Two ways in: configure it online and a specialist prepares your official quote within 24 hours on business days, or send the job to an engineer. Engineering review is free either way and comes before you pay.

An engineer reviews every order. Account required before the persistent configurator opens. Engineering review is free and comes before payment, and payment does not authorize production.

Is 3D printing the right route for your part?

  • Appearance and fit prototypes
  • Functional polymer parts
  • Low-volume complex geometry
  • Metal printing and controlled secondary operations
Typical orders
Single prototypes through repeat low-volume parts, subject to process and geometry review.
Source files
STL, STEP/STP, OBJ, or 3MF; add a drawing for critical dimensions and finish.
Accepted formats
ZIP, RAR, 7Z, PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, TXT, STL, STEP, STP, OBJ, 3MF, DXF, DWG
Payment basis
Official price after free review

A shared order lifecycle with service-specific depth.

The configurator collects the factors that drive a responsible preliminary amount. Engineering then reviews the exact source revision, assumptions, and approvals that control release.

Process and material

Configure SLA, SLS, MJF, FDM, metal, or specialist printing with the appropriate material family and color intent.

Geometry

Declare bounding dimensions, model volume, minimum features, quantity, and any cavity or orientation concern.

Secondary work

Add sanding, polishing, dye, paint, bead blast, machining, threads, inserts, assembly, or critical-surface control.

Inspection

Select visual, dimensional, or advanced inspection and identify the dimensions that control acceptance.

What can you configure for 3D printing?

These are the ranges the 3D Printing configurator accepts. Anything outside them is still orderable — it goes to an engineer through the outlined path instead of through the form.

3D Printing configurator bounds
ParameterAccepted range
Model width0.1–2,000.0 mm
Model height0.1–2,000.0 mm
Model depth0.1–2,000.0 mm
Quantity1–100,000 parts
Model volume0.01–1,000,000.00 cm³

How is a 3D printing price built?

Lead time, and what each tier trades

Economy
A longer target lead time than Standard, for work that is not on a deadline. Takes a discount line off the price, never below the service minimum, shown before you commit.
Standard
The lead-time range quoted for your configuration, counted from approved files. No schedule charge. It is the price you were quoted.
Express
Shortens the standard range where the process and the queue allow it. Adds an expedite line, priced on your own configuration and shown before you commit.
  • Model volume, bounding box, process, material, and quantity
  • Build setup, orientation, support or powder considerations, and machine time
  • Finish, threads, inserts, secondary machining, and assembly
  • Tolerance, inspection, packaging, and requested lead time
Quotation by a specialist. Quotation within 24 hours on business days. A specialist prices your exact 3D Printing scope from your files and specifications. You submit your request online, and the quotation arrives in your account and by email. Review is free. Nothing is charged until you accept a quotation.

What engineering reviews

Customer approvals may include

  • Geometry or orientation change that affects function
  • Material/process alternative or critical-feature waiver
  • Any revised price or lead time
  • File integrity, scale, watertight geometry, and printable orientation
  • Wall thickness, trapped volume, support access, and distortion risk
  • Material/process suitability and finish expectations
  • Threads, inserts, critical dimensions, inspection, and end-use context

Free review first. Keep every later decision explicit.

  1. Create your account

Verify your email before the persistent quote workspace opens. Every file, estimate, message, and payment stays attached to that account.

  2. Configure and upload

Provide service-specific inputs and place technical files in private project storage. Saved drafts remain available across sessions.

  3. Free engineering review

Submit the configured cart at no charge. A reviewer checks the exact file and specification revision, then prices it or opens a documented question or correction request.

  4. Official quote

Review publishes an itemized quote with lead time and a validity window. That is the binding figure; anything shown earlier was a preliminary estimate.

  5. Accept and pay

Accepting opens payment rather than charging you. Lead time is counted from settled payment, and any later itemized revision needs your approval first.

  6. Produce and deliver

After all commercial, technical, and customer gates are complete, the project moves through the service-specific production or design milestones.

What this service is intended to produce.

Printed parts with the approved process, material, finish, secondary operations, inspection scope, and protected model history.

Protected and traceable by default

Private files, immutable revisions, authenticated approvals, itemized commercial changes, and customer-visible history are part of the order system rather than a loose email trail.

Boundaries

  • Customer-entered volume is not a geometry certification
  • Thin walls, trapped volumes, and support-sensitive features require review
  • Metal, critical tolerance, and regulated use are priced only after review

Answers before you start the workspace.

Which 3D model formats can I upload?

The quote workspace accepts STL, STEP/STP, OBJ, and 3MF, plus drawings or reference files. A dimensioned drawing is strongly recommended for critical dimensions, threads, inserts, and cosmetic surfaces.

Why do I enter dimensions and volume?

The initial release uses validated customer-entered geometry data when automated parsing is unavailable or inconclusive. Review compares the uploaded model to those assumptions before production.

What can change after payment?

The free engineering review comes first. Depending on the service you see a live supplier price, a published fixed price, or a price from a specialist within 24 hours on business days, and nothing is charged when you submit. After the review we publish an official quote with an itemized total, lead time and a validity window, and that is the amount you are asked to pay. Accepting the official quote opens payment rather than charging you. If a later correction changes scope or price, you see an itemized revision and can approve, question or decline it. We never silently charge an increase.

How are models protected?

Your technical files are stored in private project storage and accessed through short-lived authenticated links. Files, prices, replacements and approvals stay tied to your account and keep their revision history.

Get an official quote for 3D Printing in your private workspace.

Your account preserves drafts, uploads, assumptions, quotation requests, payments, review questions, and approvals in one project record. An engineer reviews every order.

  1. An engineer runs a free engineering review of your files, and nothing is charged when you submit.
  2. You see the findings first.
  3. We publish the official quote with an itemized total, lead time and validity window.
  4. You accept the official quote, and only then does payment open.
