Full-color jetted resin topographic model with graded color on a matte black turntable

Full-color resin models that carry their color in the part.

Illuminious is a U.S. NPI engineering company. Full-color resin printing jets pigmented photopolymer so the color is in the material rather than sprayed on afterwards, which suits models, figures and presentation parts. Engineered in San Francisco. Prototype builds, DFM and mass production in our own factory in Shenzhen. Upload your files, get a free engineering review, and pay only the official quote that review publishes.

Full-color jetting builds color into the model as it prints, so gradients, color-coded assemblies and textures arrive finished rather than painted. Use it for product reviews, exhibitions and investor meetings, where an idea has to read at a glance.

Two ways in: configure it online and a specialist prepares your official quote within 24 hours on business days, or send the job to an engineer. Engineering review is free either way and comes before you pay.

The configurator opens with this configuration preselected. An engineer reviews every order. Account required; engineering review is free and comes before payment.

Is full-color resin the right process for your model?

  • Design-review, sales, and exhibition models
  • Color-coded assemblies and sectioned demonstrators
  • Anatomical, architectural, and topographic models
  • Anything where painting a prototype would cost more than printing it in color
Typical orders
One-off and small presentation quantities; larger runs are confirmed for capacity in review.
Accepted files
Color needs a format that carries it: 3MF or OBJ with texture data, or STEP/STL plus a written color specification. Drawings and reference images upload as supporting files.

The choices that decide the part.

Each of these is a real configuration decision with a cost and a consequence, not a feature list. Where one of them constrains another, engineering review is the step that resolves it.

Color in the material

Color is deposited as the part is built, so it survives handling and does not chip off an outer coat. Gradients and per-region color come out of the model file rather than a paint booth.

Textured models

3MF and OBJ carry UV-mapped textures. Supplying them is the difference between a color-coded model and a single-color one.

Finish path

As printed or sealed. Sanding a full-color part removes color, so finishing choices are deliberately limited and confirmed in review.

Presentation extras

Bases, sectioning, and assembly of multi-part models are declared operations priced as work.

What the configurator accepts, and where review takes over.

Full-color resin capability bounds
ParameterSupported range
ProcessFull-color resin jetting.
Material in the configuratorStandard resin with integrated color.
Configurator envelope0.1–2000 mm per axis and 0.01–1,000,000 cm³ declared volume. Parts outside that range are still quoted: a specialist prepares the official quote within 24 hours on business days.
Quantity1–100,000 parts per line. Batch pricing and repeat-order handling are confirmed in review.
Color sourceTexture data in 3MF or OBJ, or a written color specification alongside the geometry. Review confirms the mapping before the build.
Color matchingMatching to a brand or Pantone reference is a review conversation, not an online guarantee.
Tolerance classesProcess standard, controlled dimensions, or critical tolerance. Critical always routes to engineering review before production.
InspectionStandard visual, dimensional report, or advanced inspection, selected per line in the configurator.

Full color is priced on the same geometry basis as the other resin routes. What review adds is the color question: whether the data you supplied actually describes the model you are picturing.

Boundaries

  • Color is a presentation property, not a functional one — full-color parts are display models, not load-bearing components
  • Color accuracy against a brand reference is confirmed in review; screen color is not a contract
  • Geometry supplied without texture data needs a written color specification, which review will ask for

What drives the price of a full-color resin model?

Quotation by a specialist. Quotation within 24 hours on business days. A specialist prices your exact 3D Printing scope from your files and specifications. You submit your request online, and the quotation arrives in your account and by email. Review is free. Nothing is charged until you accept a quotation.
  • Declared volume and bounding envelope
  • Quantity and how models nest in the build
  • Color coverage and whether texture data was supplied
  • Sealing, bases, sectioning, and assembly
  • Tolerance class, inspection, and requested lead time

What engineering reviews

Customer approvals may include

  • Color interpretation where the supplied data is ambiguous
  • Any geometry change needed to make a display model survive handling
  • Any itemized price or lead-time revision
  • Whether the supplied file actually carries usable color or texture data
  • UV mapping, texture resolution, and how it lands on the geometry
  • Wall thickness and fragility for a model that will be handled at a review
  • Whether any color matching request is achievable
  • Whether the model needs sectioning, a base, or assembly to present properly

Free review first. Keep every later decision explicit.

Geometry drives the official quote, so the model you upload is the model that gets priced. Replacing it creates a new revision rather than editing the paid one, and the previous revision stays readable in your project history.

  1. Create your account

Verify your email before the persistent quote workspace opens. Every file, estimate, message, and payment stays attached to that account.

  2. Configure and upload

Provide service-specific inputs and place technical files in private project storage. Saved drafts remain available across sessions.

  3. Free engineering review

Submit the configured cart at no charge. A reviewer checks the exact file and specification revision, then prices it or opens a documented question or correction request.

  4. Official quote

Review publishes an itemized quote with lead time and a validity window. That is the binding figure; anything shown earlier was a preliminary estimate.

  5. Accept and pay

Accepting opens payment rather than charging you. Lead time is counted from settled payment, and any later itemized revision needs your approval first.

  6. Produce and deliver

After all commercial, technical, and customer gates are complete, the project moves through the service-specific production or design milestones.

Commitments the order system actually enforces.

Official quote prepared by a specialist, then geometry review

A specialist prepares your official quote within 24 hours on business days from the declared geometry. Review then opens the file to confirm the color data reads as intended — the check that most often changes a full-color job before it is built.

Files stay private

Models, drawings, and revisions live in per-project storage reached through short-lived authenticated links, tied to your account rather than an email thread.

Review target

3D printing projects are targeted for review one business day after you submit them. Review is free and happens before you are asked for an official price.

Answers before you upload anything.

What file should I send for a full-color part?

3MF or OBJ with texture data, because those carry the color. A STEP or STL file describes only the shape; if that is all you have, upload it with a written color specification and review will confirm the mapping before printing.

Can you match a specific brand color?

Sometimes, and honestly not always. Tell us the reference in the configurator and review answers against the actual process rather than promising a match on a web page.

Is the amount at checkout final?

The free engineering review comes first. Depending on the service you see a live supplier price, a published fixed price, or a price from a specialist within 24 hours on business days, and nothing is charged when you submit. After the review we publish an official quote with an itemized total, lead time and a validity window, and that is the amount you are asked to pay. Accepting the official quote opens payment rather than charging you. If a later correction changes scope or price, you see an itemized revision and can approve, question or decline it. We never silently charge an increase.

How are my models protected?

Your technical files are stored in private project storage and accessed through short-lived authenticated links. Files, prices, replacements and approvals stay tied to your account and keep their revision history.

Get an official quote for full-color printing with the process already selected.

The configurator opens on full-color resin. Upload the textured model, describe the color intent, and review confirms the data before the official price.

Three lead-time tiers, each with its trade on the line: Economy lengthens the quoted target range and takes a discount line; Standard is the quoted target range at the quoted price; Express shortens it and adds an expedite line. You see the line before you commit, and every range is a target, not a promise.

  1. An engineer runs a free engineering review of your files, and nothing is charged when you submit.
  2. You see the findings first.
  3. We publish the official quote with an itemized total, lead time and validity window.
  4. You accept the official quote, and only then does payment open.
