A Silicon Valley startup faced a critical bottleneck: their AI-powered fitness necklace went viral on social media, but their local prototype shop couldn't scale. They needed 50,000 units delivered in 6 months while avoiding the 25% Section 301 tariffs on Chinese imports.
Our solution
Illuminious deployed the U.S. + Shenzhen playbook—US-managed engineering with manufacturing execution in our own factory. We transitioned their DFM-ready design to our Shenzhen NPI center for 72-hour prototyping, then rapidly ramped the validated process to high-volume production in the same factory.

- San Francisco (US): Real-time DFM (Design for Manufacturing) collaboration to optimize the pendant's internal chassis for high-speed assembly.
- Shenzhen (China): Sourced high-performance components and completed three iterations of tooling and pilot builds in record time.
- Shenzhen (China), volume: Final assembly and fulfillment on the same lines as the pilot builds, with no line transfer.
